Exceptional circumstances
If you are unable to attend your appointment, you must make a case for exceptional circumstances to your test centre prior to the test date and up to one (1) day after the test date. Your test centre will respond to you within seven working days of receiving your case in writing. Your test centre will assess your case for exceptional circumstances.
We define exceptional circumstances as:
- serious medical conditions which prevent you from attending or performing normally on test day; such conditions require supporting evidence of a medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner
- evidence of bereavement, trauma or other forms of significant hardship
- military service.
All cases for exceptional circumstances and supporting evidence must be received by CECL-UQAM no later than one (1) day after the scheduled test date to the email address tef-cecl@uqam.ca.
Important: Please be aware that the rescheduling granted under exceptional circumstances is not eligible for a new transfer or refund in the event of a no-show. Therefore, it is your responsibility to make sure you select a date when you can take the test.
